Episode: “The Return”
Joshua and Caleb journey to Israel for the first time since their extraction in October 2023. At the Gaza border town of Sderot, they uncover the devastation from Hamas’ invasion while focusing on God’s covenant to restore the earth after the destruction wrought by the Great Flood.
Series: “Rebuilding the Ruined Cities”
In this series, Joshua and Caleb visit war-torn areas in the Holy Land where they discuss hope and blessing amidst ruin and pain. God will faithfully fulfill His promise to heal, restore, and rebuild Israel once again: “‘They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them … never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them,’ says the Lord your God” (Amos 9:14–15).

Caption transcript for Rebuilding the Ruined Cities: “The Return” (1/12)
- 00:10 Caleb Colson: Well, this is it.
- 00:11 Finally, we return.
- 00:13 Although this series will air around one year after the events
- 00:16 of October 7, we are finally returning to Israel, seven
- 00:20 months after the war began.
- 00:25 Joshua Colson: We really don't know what to expect, but just
- 00:27 for a recap of our historic trip that changed Israel for all
- 00:31 time, this is what happened when God sent us on our inaugural
- 00:34 visit to Israel, in 2023.
- 00:37 Joshua: Trust me, I get that it can be scary.
- 00:40 And no matter what they try to bring against you in this life,
- 00:43 he stands for you and he defends you.
- 00:46 The bombs are going off behind me, right now, you can hear it.
- 00:49 We're living in the last time, in the last age.
- 00:52 You don't have time anymore to say, "It's not my job."
- 00:56 We don't have time to live in complacency and say we love
- 00:59 Yeshua on a Sunday, or on a Wednesday, but then go live like
- 01:03 the world, and hide in complacency every time you've
- 01:06 been called to speak the truth in love, and those who don't
- 01:09 know, those who are sitting there when these sirens go off
- 01:12 and may lose their life today will spend an eternity separated
- 01:16 from the Father.
- 01:18 Reform begins today and it begins with you, and all he's
- 01:22 asked you to do is stand for him.
- 01:24 Stand for him the way he died for you, with his head held
- 01:28 high, saying, "That is my son."
- 01:32 Just as we're called to say, "He is my father."
- 01:39 Caleb: Now we have a plan, we have contacts, we have a
- 01:42 schedule set up, but all that might change.
- 01:44 We have to be versatile, because the situation is constantly
- 01:47 changing in Israel.
- 01:49 They are in the middle of a war with Hamas, and we know that a
- 01:52 full-fledged war has been rumored to open up with
- 01:54 Hezbollah, any day now, and of course, threats from Iran.
- 01:58 So we have to be versatile, but we are listening to the Holy
- 02:00 Spirit, and as he directs us, we're going to move and we're
- 02:03 going to take action.
- 02:05 But all of this is so that we can tell the story of Israel's
- 02:08 past, present, and future in what we are calling, "Rebuilding
- 02:12 the Ruined Cities."
- 02:20 Caleb: We know we are living in the last days, and everything
- 02:23 centers around Israel, as usual.
- 02:25 If you watched our chronological telling of End Time's events,
- 02:29 our series "Roadmap to Armageddon," we see that there's
- 02:31 moments of reprieve for Israel and some really scary moments.
- 02:35 It's just an up and down roller-coaster.
- 02:37 It reminds me of Jeremiah's prophecy to the king of Judah
- 02:41 when God warned him that Babylon was coming.
- 02:43 In Jeremiah 6:14, it says, "Be dressed the wound of my people
- 02:47 with very little care, saying peace, peace.
- 02:50 When there is no peace at all."
- 02:53 This series is going to be unlike anything we've ever done.
- 02:55 We're literally going to these different destinations where
- 02:58 these atrocities took place.
- 02:59 We are literally going to be working there.
- 03:02 We're going to be working with the groups, highlighting the
- 03:04 people and organizations that are blessing Israel.
- 03:06 If you've ever asked the question, "How can I be a part?
- 03:09 Who can I bless that's going to help Israel?"
- 03:11 We're going to show you those people, in this series, so that
- 03:14 you can be a part of changing this nation for the good.
- 03:18 Caleb: We made it!
- 03:22 Ben Gurion Airport!
- 03:25 Caleb: As you know, you know, last time, when we were trying
- 03:28 to get out of Israel, it was a very difficult situation.
- 03:31 Joshua: But God bless Congressman Corey Mills from
- 03:33 Florida, my same age buddy, he came in with his team looking to
- 03:39 extract us, but in addition, 45 total Americans that he had not
- 03:44 planned on extracting, simply because they needed help.
- 03:47 He came in, took us through Jordan on his own dime, put us
- 03:50 up in the nicest hotel in town, ensured with the security that
- 03:53 we got to our flights, that we got home, because of
- 03:56 his efforts.
- 03:58 But we're back again, and we're ready to tell the story of this
- 04:01 country being rebuilt.
- 04:03 I'm so excited to be here.
- 04:08 Caleb: Very different from last time we walked down this
- 04:10 passageway, they had a great mural of all the heroes of
- 04:13 Israel on the wall.
- 04:15 This time, on the floor, there are signs to all those who are
- 04:19 still captive in Gaza, all those who have not returned.
- 04:23 The sign says, "Bring him home, now."
- 04:25 "Bring her home, now."
- 04:27 It's very sad.
- 04:44 Caleb: Back in April 2024, full-scale war nearly broke out
- 04:48 with Iran.
- 04:50 If you saw on the news, they were, for the first time,
- 04:53 directly assaulting Israel with over 300 plus drones, ballistic
- 04:57 missiles, cruise missiles, it was crazy.
- 05:00 It looked like a fireworks show.
- 05:03 Thankfully, God intervened on Israel's behalf, along with
- 05:07 their allies.
- 05:08 God supernaturally--99% of those missiles were taken out.
- 05:11 I mean that was unheard of, even for the technology that
- 05:13 was used.
- 05:14 God protected his people and no one died, no one perished.
- 05:20 But since then, everybody's been on edge.
- 05:22 Joshua: Normally, we stay in Jerusalem, but this time,
- 05:24 because of everything that's been going on, the places that
- 05:25 we need to go to, we're staying in Ashdod, which is just south
- 05:28 of Tel Aviv.
- 05:29 We're still gonna be going to Judea, Samaria, and hopefully
- 05:32 over to the Gaza Strip, depending on if we can get in.
- 05:36 The security has been tough.
- 05:37 We hope we made a few contacts that's gonna help us
- 05:38 get through.
- 05:40 Caleb: And so, originally, when the Holy Spirit directed us with
- 05:41 this series, he gave us a verse that I would say is a theme for
- 05:46 rebuilding the ruined cities, and I don't think there's any
- 05:49 greater time now than to read this very important verse, Amos
- 05:53 9:13-15 says, "'The days are coming,' declares the Lord,
- 05:57 'when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman and the
- 06:01 planter by the one who's treading grapes.
- 06:03 New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from
- 06:05 the hills.
- 06:07 I will bring my people Israel back from exile.
- 06:09 They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them.
- 06:12 They will plant vineyards and drink their wine.
- 06:14 They will make gardens and eat their fruit.
- 06:16 I will plant Israel in their land.
- 06:18 Never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them,'
- 06:21 says the Lord, your God," amen.
- 06:25 Caleb: Well, we finally made it.
- 06:27 Man, that was over 24 hours of travel.
- 06:29 Joshua: It's a good amount of travel.
- 06:30 Caleb: Yes.
- 06:32 Joshua: Some people would go 30-minute car rides, 24-hours,
- 06:33 very similar.
- 06:35 Caleb: But here we are, at Ashdod.
- 06:36 You can see the beach behind us.
- 06:37 It is sunset, and while we're here during this trip, it's
- 06:41 gonna be Israel's Independence Day.
- 06:43 You may see celebrations going on during this--the filming of
- 06:47 this process, but it's part of that story of the rebirth of
- 06:50 Israel and the nation surviving after all the attempts to
- 06:53 annihilate it, throughout history.
- 06:55 Joshua: So it's gonna be a pretty good week!
- 06:57 Caleb: Yeah.
- 06:58 Joshua: I'm kind of tired, so we're gonna go, you know, clean
- 07:00 off and take a break because in the morning, we start early.
- 07:02 Caleb: Big day.
- 07:14 Joshua: We are standing in the land of--
- 07:17 Israel Hanna: Israel.
- 07:18 Joshua: With--
- 07:20 Israel: Israel.
- 07:21 Joshua: It's a double entendre! What's it mean?
- 07:22 We got two Israels.
- 07:24 Two Israels are always better than one.
- 07:25 He carries God's presence everywhere he goes.
- 07:26 He's like a magnet for people.
- 07:28 We can literally walk into a city street and then the first
- 07:30 question asked on set is, "Where's Israel?"
- 07:33 And that's because the Holy Spirit has already led him to
- 07:35 speak to somebody, and people open up like that.
- 07:37 Why wouldn't you want this man on every mission you go on?
- 07:40 Caleb: Josh and I, last time, we had so many people coming up to
- 07:43 us while we're filming, needing to be prayed for, and we love to
- 07:46 do that, but we just have a short time in this land to get
- 07:49 everything done, and that's what you're here for, right?
- 07:51 Israel: I love it, it seems to be my gift, for some reason, and
- 07:54 people not only gravitate towards me, but I run
- 07:57 after them.
- 07:58 Joshua: So throughout this series, we want to bring you
- 08:00 some updates of the people that Israel has talked to so that you
- 08:04 can be encouraged by the fact that, as a ministry, we are here
- 08:07 witnessing to the Jewish people, on behalf of Yeshua, which is a
- 08:10 large part of why we're here.
- 08:12 Caleb: Amen.
- 08:13 Israel: I like the fact that "Our Jewish Roots" is making
- 08:15 evangelism a priority in their work, and it's necessary for us
- 08:20 to continue to reach out to the lost, and tell them, and speak
- 08:23 to them about their Savior, Yeshua Hamashiach.
- 08:28 Caleb: We are on our way to Sderot.
- 08:30 With a population of 39,000, they were one of the first to be
- 08:33 invaded on October 7.
- 08:35 Fifty citizens were killed, but thanks to their constant
- 08:38 emergency response that they had prepared, more escaped, and
- 08:44 Hamas did take over that city for the time being,
- 08:46 several days.
- 08:48 It took a while to clear them out.
- 08:49 Joshua: With the majority of the residents fleeing south and
- 08:51 having lived in hotels for months now, they're just
- 08:54 starting to make their way back to the city, to go through the
- 08:56 ruins, and begin to rebuild.
- 08:58 Now, I visited this city some 15 years ago.
- 09:02 I remember being taken to the police station, where they
- 09:04 showed the shrapnel of missiles and things that have been lobbed
- 09:07 over on a daily basis.
- 09:10 There were thousands and thousands of missiles that have
- 09:13 been shot over a period of just a couple of months.
- 09:16 I also remember crossing over the border in Gaza, crazy things
- 09:19 that happened on that part of the trip.
- 09:21 We're going there now.
- 09:29 Caleb: The sign says, "Welcome to Sderot."
- 09:32 For decades, this was known as the most heavily bombed city on
- 09:36 the planet.
- 09:37 They had a problem with Hamas in the Gaza Strip daily lobbying
- 09:40 rockets over the border, just like a schoolyard bully just
- 09:43 constantly picking and needling and picking.
- 09:45 Obviously, the situation has changed since then.
- 09:48 Joshua: From the very beginning of Scripture, we see God's heart
- 09:52 of redemption and restoration for those that have been broken,
- 09:56 rejected, harmed, hurt.
- 09:58 We see, even right after Adam and Eve of sin in Genesis 3,
- 10:03 that God steps in and he foretells of a future, ultimate
- 10:06 plan of redemption for mankind, and that messianic prophecy is
- 10:09 alive and well today.
- 10:11 Genesis 3:15, "And I will put enmity between you and the
- 10:15 woman, and between your seed and her seed.
- 10:17 He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel."
- 10:22 Caleb: He, Yeshua, certainly crushed the serpent's head,
- 10:25 Satan, upon his resurrection.
- 10:27 But Revelation 12 gives that great reveal that the woman,
- 10:32 Israel, would give birth to a male child, Messiak, Messiah,
- 10:36 Yeshua, and that male child would bring salvation to the
- 10:40 whole world, and restoration to the house of Israel.
- 10:43 Obviously, now we have that opportunity to receive Yeshua as
- 10:47 our salvation, we can make that choice.
- 10:49 But it won't be till the end, after the Tribulation, that he
- 10:54 will save the whole house of Israel.
- 11:00 Caleb: This field may look empty, see all these wires that
- 11:04 are growing up out of the ground?
- 11:06 That's because there used to be a building here.
- 11:09 This was a police station, before October 7.
- 11:13 The Hamas overtook the garrison of police officers and civilians
- 11:16 that were held up inside this facility and murdered them all.
- 11:22 Eventually, the IDF arrived to take back Sderot, they couldn't
- 11:25 eliminate the terrorists in the police station and save the
- 11:28 building itself.
- 11:30 So they used bulldozers to demolish the station and kill
- 11:34 the remaining gunmen inside.
- 11:36 You see reefs hanging around, there are candles where people
- 11:39 have lit memorials.
- 11:41 They say they're going to build an actual memorial here to the
- 11:44 lives lost in Sderot.
- 11:46 Here's an image of what they're gonna do with this facility,
- 11:50 this beautiful memorial to the lives that were lost.
- 11:55 Here's another memorial, images of individuals who have been
- 11:59 taken in the past, who still have not been returned from
- 12:02 captivity in Gaza.
- 12:04 And as of recording this video, there are many that we still
- 12:07 don't know if they're alive, they're going to be released, or
- 12:11 make it back.
- 12:13 Joshua: But you can see that from day one, Satan had it out
- 12:16 for God's people.
- 12:17 Yes, the woman would become the Jewish people from which the
- 12:20 Messiah would come.
- 12:21 And even though, technically, the first Hebrews would come
- 12:24 from Abraham, Satan had this inkling, because of a prophecy
- 12:27 in Genesis 3:15, that there would be a genetic line that
- 12:30 would come that he would have to sabotage, because that genetic
- 12:34 line would stomp out the serpent's head.
- 12:37 Caleb: So he wastes no time, this devil, in destroying the
- 12:41 genetics of humanity.
- 12:43 You read in Genesis 6 of the "benei ha elohim," these angelic
- 12:46 sons of God who came down and mated with the daughters of
- 12:49 women and created a hybrid race of giants called "Nephilim."
- 12:53 They perverted the genetics of mankind and filled the earth
- 12:56 with violence and perversion and sin, so much so that God had
- 13:00 to wipe out all of humanity, destroy all the earth with
- 13:04 a flood.
- 13:05 However, Noah and his family were of pure genetic line.
- 13:09 He was the only one that was found righteous before God, and
- 13:12 that's why it takes us to this first "rebuilding the ruined
- 13:15 cities" moment that, out of this destruction and judgment that
- 13:18 hit the earth, God could bring about something beautiful.
- 13:22 Let's read about that passage in Genesis 9, of the Noahic
- 13:26 Covenant, that covenant that God made with the people of the
- 13:31 world, and with the animals.
- 13:33 Genesis 9:8 through 13, "Then God said to Noah and to his sons
- 13:38 with him: 'I now establish my covenant with you and with your
- 13:41 descendants, after you and with every living creature that was
- 13:44 with you, the birds, the livestock, and all the wild
- 13:47 animals, all those that came out of the ark with you, every
- 13:50 living creature on earth...
- 13:51 Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of
- 13:54 the flood.
- 13:55 Never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.'
- 13:58 And God said, 'This is the sign of the covenant.
- 14:01 I've set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign
- 14:05 of a covenant between me and the earth.'"
- 14:08 Joshua: You see, the Noahic Covenant is really
- 14:10 quite incredible.
- 14:11 It's incredible for many reasons, it's unconditional.
- 14:14 That means there's absolutely nothing anybody has to do for it
- 14:17 to be met.
- 14:18 But also, that means there's nothing that anybody can do to
- 14:21 stop it.
- 14:22 It doesn't matter if you're a Nephilim, a world dictator, if
- 14:24 you're running, like, the greatest secret society on the
- 14:26 planet, nothing you can do will stop the covenant that God made
- 14:30 that says he will never, ever destroy the Earth by
- 14:33 flood again.
- 14:34 Caleb: You see this beautiful mural that was painted behind
- 14:36 us after the fact of the attack.
- 14:39 Very bottom corner, it says, "Simchat Torah," the very last
- 14:43 day of the Feast of the Sukkot, they're reading the Torah, and
- 14:46 then the tank is attacking in the middle of their reading.
- 14:49 They're focused on God, they're worshiping God, in middle
- 14:51 of celebration.
- 14:53 Let that sink in for a moment.
- 14:54 We want to remember the life that God has given us, and his
- 14:58 goodness and his love, even in the midst of this destruction.
- 15:07 Caleb: In between takes, and you may hear it while we're talking,
- 15:11 there are explosions going off in Gaza, less than a mile
- 15:14 from here.
- 15:16 Feels really dicey.
- 15:17 There goes one right now, I don't know if you could
- 15:19 hear that.
- 15:20 But the example of a flood is the premium and ultimate
- 15:25 example of destruction and judgment.
- 15:27 That the Jewish people would have to suffer persecution and
- 15:31 judgment throughout history would never be as severe as that
- 15:34 judgment that first came upon the earth.
- 15:37 But God, out of all this destruction and heartache,
- 15:41 always seeks out with his unfailing love, to the Jewish
- 15:44 people to have them return and rebuild and be restored.
- 15:49 Those are the three awesome Rs of God: to be restored for his
- 15:54 Jewish people.
- 15:56 Joshua: After the flood, God commanded Noah and his family
- 15:58 and the animals to be fruitful and multiply, repopulate
- 16:01 the earth.
- 16:03 You see, today the population of the Jewish people on the Earth
- 16:05 is dwindling.
- 16:06 After 6.5 million Jews lost in the Holocaust, and on October
- 16:10 7th, the surprise attack from Hamas killing over 1,200
- 16:14 Israelis and foreigners,
- 16:17 240, 245 taken captive, hidden in tunnels throughout Gaza.
- 16:24 In fact, these right here, beautifully ornate structures
- 16:27 that they've painted to blend in and give the sense of normality
- 16:30 here in the town of Sderot are actually bomb shelters.
- 16:33 There are loudspeakers throughout the town and when a
- 16:35 person comes on and says, "Red Alert,"
- 16:38 that's the one warning you get.
- 16:39 You have 15 seconds to get to one of these bomb shelters, and
- 16:42 then you have to stay in there for 10-minutes in hopes that you
- 16:45 come back to a home, or that the shelter itself isn't bombed.
- 16:49 Caleb: That's right, so just for you to understand the extreme
- 16:53 significance of the 1,200 that died on the day of October 7,
- 17:00 for 9/11, in America, it was a really harsh and jarring event
- 17:06 that affected the entire country because you have 295 million, I
- 17:13 believe, it was around that number 285 million citizens in
- 17:16 America, at that time.
- 17:18 So 1,200, you do the fraction, with 9.4 million Israelis, is
- 17:24 much greater significance of loss of life because nearly
- 17:30 everybody in Israel knew someone, had some connection,
- 17:33 family, to someone who was perished, died, or kidnapped
- 17:37 during that conflict.
- 17:39 Joshua: And whether or not you can hear it, inside this bomb
- 17:42 shelter, the echo, the sounds of the bombs and the missiles
- 17:45 are amplified.
- 17:46 That's one of the things I noted when Caleb was just talking, not
- 17:48 in the script, but I can't imagine being in here when you
- 17:52 know that your home, or your family's home, or your friend's
- 17:55 home may be the target of those missiles.
- 18:04 Caleb: We're here in the courtyard of a massive
- 18:07 school complex.
- 18:08 All around us, you see these buildings.
- 18:11 Little did you know that they're reinforced with concrete with
- 18:14 steel coverings.
- 18:16 After October 7 attack, they needed a place in the city to
- 18:21 protect people during an attack.
- 18:23 Massive amounts of people at a time, so they converted the
- 18:25 school to that facility.
- 18:27 You have this sign right here.
- 18:28 That says, "Time is short, love is multiplied."
- 18:33 They're still trying to think positively, even in the midst of
- 18:36 the darkness, even in the midst of destruction, that good can
- 18:40 still overcome evil
- 18:42 and triumph, no matter the situation.
- 18:45 Joshua: After Yeshua was baptized by his cousin John, he
- 18:48 went into the wilderness, into the desert, for 40 days.
- 18:52 He fasted, and prayed, and during this time of human
- 18:55 weakness and exhaustion, Luke 4 chronicles how Satan came to
- 18:58 tempt him.
- 19:00 But it says that Yeshua overcame Satan by the very Word of God.
- 19:06 Because as John 1 declares, Yeshua is the Word of God.
- 19:09 Caleb: And so, Yeshua, filled with the "ruach ha-kodesh," the
- 19:13 Holy Spirit, immediately went to return to his hometown
- 19:16 of Nazareth.
- 19:18 And he went into the synagogue on Shabbat.
- 19:20 You should know this story by now because we rehearsed it
- 19:23 during our series "Road Map to Armageddon," and we went to the
- 19:27 synagogue church in Nazareth, Yeshua told us to, the Holy
- 19:30 Spirit told us to.
- 19:31 He said it was necessary that we go and rehearse that same
- 19:34 Scripture that Yeshua spoke in Isaiah 61, that reminder of his
- 19:40 Messianic covenant, and even though it wasn't completely
- 19:44 fulfilled with the restoration of all mankind, he still read
- 19:48 that and people rejected him.
- 19:50 Well, we feel that it's time for Josh to read the totality of
- 19:53 that Scripture today, the totality that Yeshua couldn't
- 19:56 finish on that day, because it has great implications for the
- 20:00 time now and for the future of the whole house of Israel.
- 20:04 Joshua: Isaiah 61:1-3.
- 20:07 "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has
- 20:11 anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor; he has sent
- 20:15 me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the
- 20:18 captives, the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
- 20:22 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of
- 20:25 vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to console those
- 20:30 who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy
- 20:35 for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of
- 20:38 heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness,
- 20:41 the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified."
- 20:48 Joshua: You're not too far to come back home.
- 20:52 I know that every child has not had an ideal raising, but many
- 20:58 grow up with a mother and a father who loved them,
- 21:00 very dearly.
- 21:01 And in this process of them being raised, the family is
- 21:05 focused on the very best for their life.
- 21:08 They're given love, they're given attention, they're given
- 21:12 all of the belief that they have a future for themselves.
- 21:17 For some reason, as time goes on and boys and girls start to
- 21:21 listen to their peers and their friends, they stop listening to
- 21:24 their parents and those who give them good advice, and they start
- 21:27 to become products of mistakes and consequences.
- 21:32 And at some point, life shifts from the ideal of who you could
- 21:37 be, and people start identifying themselves with the things that
- 21:41 they've done negatively.
- 21:44 There's a term that's thrown around a lot today, and it's
- 21:46 positive in pop culture, the idea of being a survivor.
- 21:49 "I survived cancer, I survived this, I survived that."
- 21:53 There's nothing wrong with surviving, the strength of
- 21:55 surviving is incredible.
- 21:57 But the problem with identifying yourself solely as a survivor is
- 22:01 you're limiting the scope of your entire existence to simply
- 22:05 having defeated one obstacle.
- 22:07 That your life existed only to overcome this one adversity.
- 22:11 When the Bible says that God meticulously crafted who you are
- 22:16 and who you would be before the foundations of this earth, but
- 22:20 as we've gone along instead of accepting the hours and hours
- 22:24 that our parents sacrifice to take us from babies and keep us
- 22:28 alive as we were fully dependent on them, to paying to provide
- 22:32 for our belongings and our dwelling.
- 22:34 We've stopped listening to the value that the Word says
- 22:38 about us.
- 22:39 And we've only listened to the lies of the mistakes that
- 22:43 we've made.
- 22:44 What would happen differently in your life if you started to
- 22:46 accept the truth?
- 22:47 If you really believe for a moment that you were the
- 22:49 righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and today put everything
- 22:53 aside, the fear, the guilt, the shame that holds you in bondage
- 22:59 to the mistakes that you've made, and accepted the identity
- 23:03 of your Father who is still waiting for you to come home
- 23:07 with his arms open as wide as they were the second you left.
- 23:12 Because just like the parable of the prodigal son, when you're
- 23:14 around the corner, Dad's still waiting there for you with open
- 23:18 arms to embrace you and to love you and to give you that future
- 23:21 destiny that you ran from.
- 23:25 Many years ago, when my son was a few months old, we were
- 23:29 traveling around, we didn't have a place to live, me and my wife,
- 23:33 we wanted to find where we're gonna go, and so in essence, we
- 23:35 were homeless for several months, trying to decide where
- 23:37 to go.
- 23:38 One night we were in Wilmington, North Carolina, in this little
- 23:42 motel, not hotel, which means it was exposed to the outside, and
- 23:45 finally got my son to sleep inside, and I was out on this
- 23:48 tiny, little balcony and I was just sitting there.
- 23:51 I had a dinner napkin, and all of a sudden God started to talk
- 23:54 to me directly.
- 23:56 And in literally less than five minutes's time, he said these
- 23:59 exact words that I wrote down, and as I was preparing for
- 24:02 today, he told me specifically to share this.
- 24:03 I've never shared this publicly.
- 24:06 But this poem, these words, are God speaking directly to you.
- 24:12 It says, "For in a day you shall see all that in a lifetime
- 24:17 escapes you.
- 24:18 In that moment, love's pure light will shine upon you,
- 24:21 quenching the darkness of shame, of pain, of bondage.
- 24:26 My child, you are my heartbeat.
- 24:30 You are my all.
- 24:31 If it were not so, I would not have fled for you.
- 24:35 Yet my love is not a single act of time has passed, and my heart
- 24:39 is not a former movement.
- 24:40 For I pine for you, my love.
- 24:43 I lay in wait for the day of our return.
- 24:46 Your light illuminates my eyes.
- 24:48 Even as my love illuminates your heart.
- 24:51 For these moments in time are not a defining epilogue, for
- 24:55 your image was crafted upon my heart before time began.
- 25:00 Let not the deceptions of this age spin a web of deceit in
- 25:03 which you find your calling.
- 25:05 For you are not to be changed, but called to perform
- 25:08 my changing.
- 25:09 You are as I have called you.
- 25:11 You will as I have made you.
- 25:14 Now live, as I have paid for you to be free."
- 25:20 Joshua: What a journey, what a return.
- 25:23 Many of you, well, they may not know that we have to film these
- 25:26 episodes well in advance, but even since we returned from
- 25:28 Israel, the fighting has not let up.
- 25:31 Maybe just a little at times, but it's intensified, especially
- 25:34 if you're watching the news today.
- 25:36 As we mentioned, all of our crew didn't want to return with us.
- 25:39 Their families were concerned, and we understand that concern.
- 25:41 Our families didn't want us to return into the war zone that we
- 25:44 escaped from in October of 2023.
- 25:46 Caleb: Yeah, my own 9-year-old daughter's teachers called me in
- 25:50 for a parent-teacher meeting two weeks before my departure.
- 25:53 Every one of my kiddo's schools knows what we do and they knew
- 25:57 that we were about to return for Israel, and these wonderful
- 25:59 teachers were worried about my daughter because her grades were
- 26:02 dropping, she was getting emotional in class, and they
- 26:05 attribute to our return to the Holy Land.
- 26:08 Thankfully, they understood the importance of this ministry and
- 26:10 joined with me in prayer and daily encouragement for
- 26:12 my daughter.
- 26:13 So just before I left for Israel, my daughter gave me
- 26:16 these two pictures, and I posted them in my hotel room in Ashdod.
- 26:22 Here is the first one, it's Psalms 27:3 says, "Though an
- 26:25 army besiege me, my heart will not fear.
- 26:28 The war breaks out against me, even then I will be confident."
- 26:33 Here this other picture my daughter said, "Be confident and
- 26:36 brave when you go to Israel, Dad."
- 26:41 I mean, that brought me to tears, that she would send me
- 26:44 out in faith, believing and trusting in God, just like I
- 26:47 taught her for years, that God would protect us when we
- 26:50 were out.
- 26:51 Joshua: We want to thank you for supporting this ministry, your
- 26:53 ministry, not just ours.
- 26:55 Financially, and with your prayers, you have made this
- 26:57 ministry happen, year after year, after year.
- 27:00 You send us out and you cover us in prayer, and while we're out,
- 27:04 we promise you that we don't waste a second in our labor to
- 27:07 tell the lost about Yeshua.
- 27:09 Caleb: That's right.
- 27:10 Joshua: Please continue to give as we help the rebuilding of
- 27:12 a nation.
- 27:13 Please check out on social media because we have additional
- 27:15 programming that airs there.
- 27:17 Bible lessons, a monthly news letter, additional content, all
- 27:20 of these things are available for you online to see and
- 27:23 understand, to know what's going on and not have the excuse that
- 27:26 you were unaware.
- 27:27 Caleb: That's right, guys.
- 27:28 Watch us next week as we continue to "Rebuild the Ruined
- 27:30 Cities" and as you go, "Sha'alu Shalom Yerushalayim."
- 27:34 Joshua: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
- 27:37 male announcer: Our offer on this program, "The Covenants of
- 27:40 God," eight 30-minute programs on two DVDs.
- 27:44 Zola Levitt helps us understand God's covenants with man,
- 27:49 enriching our faith and expanding our knowledge of the
- 27:52 Great Creator we're privileged to call "Father."
- 27:56 Ask for "The Covenants of God" DVDs.
- 28:00 female: We, by this, kind of understood that safety is not
- 28:05 necessarily something that we always have.
- 28:08 That's the reality of things.
- 28:10 male: This was a war zone.
- 28:11 Suddenly, we get a phone call from [inaudible]
- 28:13 to send a volunteer.
- 28:15 female: Every time I came, I felt safe.
- 28:16 And I figured, you know what, it's not really any different.
- 28:19 male: Even if something happens, this is God's will, right?
- 28:22 female: To participate in something that is meaningful and
- 28:24 important to you.
- 28:26 male: This is good, send us a message, for change.
