• 01:01 Welcome, friends.
• 01:03 Joshua: I love that good Hebrew.
• 01:04 David: Joshua and Caleb, I don't know if I should call you
• 01:06 that or the Bearded Bible Brothers.
• 01:08 That's who you are.
• 01:09 Caleb: We'll take both. Joshua: We'll take both.
• 01:11 David: We welcome you to this set, to this table.
• 01:13 Kirsten: Last week, it was such a beautiful--
• 01:15 should I say?--
• 01:17 passing of the baton of a little bit of a mantle.
• 01:19 There was some blessing prayed over you from Dr. Seif,
• 01:22 who was with us for many years, and you've been with us for many
• 01:27 years but not on this set, so welcome.
• 01:30 Joshua: We have been behind the set,
• 01:31 and now we're on the set, so it's an amazing transition.
• 01:34 If y'all guys didn't see last week's episode,
• 01:36 Dr. Seif is going to be moving into a new role.
• 01:39 We are going to be transitioning into teaching,
• 01:42 and for the next six months, they still have two other series
• 01:44 that Dr. Seif is gonna be in, so you'll see us in the studio
• 01:47 commenting on some of his brilliance that he'll be
• 01:49 presenting, but we're very excited to be movin' to this new
• 01:51 time for us.
• 01:53 Kirsten: It's like we have two children,
• 01:54 and when you have your first, you think,
• 01:56 "Can I love the second as much?"
• 01:58 Joshua: No.
• 01:59 Kirsten: And God--ha-ha-ha. Joshua: He cannot.
• 02:01 Kirsten: God expands your heart,
• 02:02 and it's like our family is expanding.
• 02:04 You've been behind the scenes, but now we've expanded to you on
• 02:07 here, and we're just thrilled that you're in these seats and
• 02:10 the wisdom that you will be bringing to the program.
• 02:13 Joshua: We're very excited.
• 02:14 Our parents named us Joshua and Caleb,
• 02:15 not by accident, but God gave them that vision of us
• 02:19 fulfilling, by faith, the good report and taking the land,
• 02:22 and so that's what we're here to do.
• 02:23 Kirsten: Talk about vision, we get to see you--
• 02:27 you get to see this guy, Joshua, as Joshua throughout all of our
• 02:31 reenactments on this program and in the series.
• 02:34 Let's go now to our dramatic reenactment.
• 02:41 [Joshua narrating] What happened at Mount Sinai
• 02:43 was a miracle, a personal message to Moses inscribed
• 02:47 in stone by the very finger of Adonai.
• 02:51 Days later, it's left me wondering,
• 02:54 still searching for words to explain our journey
• 02:57 on the mount.
• 02:59 ♪♪♪
• 03:04 Joshua: Why'd he choose me?
• 03:07 He could've chosen any of the elders,
• 03:10 Gershom, Eliezer.
• 03:16 There was this thick cloud that covered us.
• 03:20 For six days, nothing could be seen.
• 03:25 And all the more, I wondered why he'd chosen me.
• 03:32 male: You speak of Mount Sinai?
• 03:35 Joshua: Yes.
• 03:38 male: Joshua, Moses thinks highly of you.
• 03:43 Did you ascend to the top of the mount with him?
• 03:46 Joshua: No.
• 03:48 On the seventh day, the glory of the Lord overcame us like a
• 03:53 magnificent ball of fire from heaven.
• 03:57 male: Yes, we saw it.
• 03:59 Joshua: The Lord beckoned Moses,
• 04:01 and he ascended the remainder of the mount alone,
• 04:05 right through those clouds.
• 04:08 Forty days, forty long days and nights before I would see him
• 04:13 again carrying those stone tablets.
• 04:18 We descended the mount together, and I heard what I thought were
• 04:21 sounds of war from the camp.
• 04:24 male: But it wasn't war.
• 04:26 Joshua: No, it was much worse than war.
• 04:31 People were carousing before this golden calf.
• 04:34 They were making sacrifices and singing and dancing.
• 04:39 It was an abomination, an absolute abomination.
• 04:44 male: And thousands died because of it.
• 04:47 Joshua: The Lord has had his vengeance.
• 04:54 The land of promise can still be ours if we are on his side.
• 05:01 Despite the golden calf, he told Moses that,
• 05:04 in the days to come, he would send an angel that would lead us
• 05:07 to victory.
• 05:10 Write this down, and make it very clear: As for me and my
• 05:19 house, we will serve the Lord.
• 05:27 I know, one day, I will walk upon that land.
• 05:32 I just know it.
• 05:40 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Joshua wanted it made perfectly clear
• 05:43 he would, one day, walk upon the land of promise even though he
• 05:48 knew that going would be difficult.
• 05:51 Many grumbled and complained along the way,
• 05:53 but what happened atop Mount Sinai would prove to be
• 05:57 significant in shaping the initial leadership and the
• 06:01 ultimate destiny of the children of Israel.
• 06:05 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: The journey from Mizraim,
• 06:07 from Egypt, to Eretz Kena'an, the land of Canaan,
• 06:12 it was a tough journey.
• 06:14 It's tough terrain here, as you can see,
• 06:16 out in the wilderness.
• 06:19 Tough place.
• 06:21 It took tough people to carve out some space in this land.
• 06:26 Moshe Rabbeinu, Moses, is foremost in the list.
• 06:31 He's well known because he spent 40 years out here in the
• 06:34 wilderness before he went back to Egypt to lead the children of
• 06:38 Israel out of Egypt, but even as he led them out,
• 06:42 according to the biblical text, he wasn't alone in so doing
• 06:48 as a leader.
• 06:50 I mention that because, though Moses gets all the attention
• 06:54 initially and rightly so as the principal leader,
• 06:58 he had an assistant.
• 07:01 His name was Joshua, interesting fellow to be sure.
• 07:06 His name was Hosea, originally, but his name was changed from a
• 07:10 word for "salvation" to "Jehoshua," that is,
• 07:14 "God is salvation," and he was going to learn that.
• 07:19 Interesting word in Hebrew.
• 07:21 In Greek, "salvation," "sozo," means "save."
• 07:26 It means "heal," "be made whole,"
• 07:28 "put back together again."
• 07:30 The word "Yeshua" or "Joshua," in Hebrew,
• 07:34 it means "to heal."
• 07:37 It means "to deliver."
• 07:39 It means "to redeem," "to save," and Joshua was all that.
• 07:44 And in so doing, he led Israel, and he indeed was more than just
• 07:51 a conqueror though he was that to be sure.
• 07:54 In the Jewish world, it's believed that all we ever needed
• 07:57 for biblical revelation was the book of--
• 08:00 the books of Moses and the book of Joshua.
• 08:03 That should've been the end of it.
• 08:05 If you look in the biblical text in the Torah,
• 08:08 in the five books of Moses, this land that's vouchsafed
• 08:11 to a people, and then Joshua let 'em in,
• 08:13 and that should've been the end of it.
• 08:15 They should've prospered there, but it didn't quite go that way,
• 08:19 but that's a story for another day.
• 08:21 Our story here is to take a look at the book and find out about
• 08:25 this man who, indeed, was more than just a conqueror.
• 08:29 Of course, there's a book named after him.
• 08:34 I'm less interested in that, at the outset,
• 08:36 as I am some background information on him,
• 08:39 and for that, we begin in the book Shemot
• 08:42 in Hebrew--or Exodus.
• 08:45 There's a story here where we're told that--and I wanna look in
• 08:50 chapter 24, in the text, where we're told as Moshe Rabbeinu,
• 08:57 as Moses ascends Sinai out here in the wilderness,
• 09:02 as he goes up, we discover that he didn't go up alone.
• 09:07 I'm looking in chapter 24, verse 13,
• 09:09 and the numbers don't always sync up to the English Bible.
• 09:14 I'm reading here from the Masoretic text out
• 09:16 of the Hebrew.
• 09:17 We're told--
• 09:19 [speaking in Hebrew]
• 09:22 "And Moses rose up along with Joshua his minister."
• 09:28 It's interesting the way Jews translate the word for Joshua as
• 09:32 "his minister," "his attendant," "his servant."
• 09:39 The point is that Moses was there,
• 09:41 but he wasn't just there.
• 09:43 Joshua, who is going to become a principal leader later,
• 09:47 is identified as a principal servant initially.
• 09:51 And I mention that--it interests me that Moses had sons,
• 09:57 and it's not at all uncommon, as you would know,
• 09:59 amongst priests, amongst kings, you have dynasties.
• 10:04 You know, the kids follow in the family business,
• 10:07 but God's business isn't a family business here when it
• 10:10 comes to a prophet.
• 10:12 It's different, and Joshua the book is slated there in the
• 10:17 Hebrew Bible among the prophets.
• 10:19 There's a word "nabi," "to bubble forth."
• 10:21 He brought forth a word, and he brought forth new direction for
• 10:25 the people of Israel, very interesting.
• 10:27 But we're told here that Moses is principal,
• 10:31 but Joshua is there with him as a servant.
• 10:35 I think this is lost in modernity.
• 10:37 In the trades, it used to be you would have an electrician,
• 10:40 and then you would have someone who's a servant
• 10:43 to the master electrician.
• 10:45 A plumber, you would have a servant.
• 10:46 People, as they get into the trades,
• 10:49 they're guided by a more senior hand.
• 10:51 Today, the young, "We just wanna go get it and seize it."
• 10:54 Here, interestingly, you have Moshe Rabbeinu,
• 10:57 Moses, but Joshua is there with him not only here on Sinai,
• 11:02 we're told, and we're told that the minister is there and then--
• 11:06 [speaking in Hebrew]
• 11:08 "And then Moses went up to the Mountain of God," that Moses
• 11:14 went up all the way, but Joshua was there with him for part of
• 11:18 the way, not just here, by the way.
• 11:20 Elsewhere, when Moshe Rabbeinu was in the Mishkan,
• 11:24 this portable worship center, the tent of meeting,
• 11:27 elsewhere, we're told that Joshua was there.
• 11:30 Joshua was a go-to guy to fight battles as well.
• 11:33 He just was with him as an able assistant,
• 11:36 not his own sons.
• 11:38 The rabbis say that his sons weren't worthy for it,
• 11:40 and they're given scant mention in the Bible.
• 11:43 But you can see here that this man,
• 11:46 who was gonna lead them in a conquest
• 11:47 himself, was more than just a conqueror.
• 11:51 He was a man with a heart for God as evidenced by his loyalty.
• 11:54 He's there in the sanctuary, and here he is at the moment of
• 11:58 divine revelation when Moshe Rabbeinu goes up Har Sinai to
• 12:02 get the luchos, the tablets, to come down
• 12:05 with the Ten Commandments.
• 12:06 We're told that Joshua is there with him.
• 12:09 He was more than just a soldier like David,
• 12:13 who would come later.
• 12:14 He, too, was a man who was after God's own heart,
• 12:18 and it's for that reason that he was more than just a conqueror.
• 12:23 ♪♪♪
• 12:34 ♪♪♪
• 12:40 ♪♪♪
• 12:44 Kirsten: Moses had his role, his role to take the Israelites
• 12:48 so far, but then someone else stepped in,
• 12:52 and it was Joshua's turn.
• 12:54 And the two of you have now stepped in.
• 12:56 It's your role and your job to take this program into the next,
• 13:02 hopefully, decade and beyond.
• 13:04 Joshua: And it is a huge honor and responsibility.
• 13:07 It's interesting what Dr. Seif was talkin' about here in the
• 13:10 transition of the mantles, if you will, in the Bible.
• 13:13 One would think that, like unto kings and whatnot,
• 13:16 that would go from the father to the son,
• 13:18 but we see oftentimes in the Bible that this isn't the case.
• 13:22 Elijah threw his mantle down to Elisha,
• 13:24 and he received a double portion.
• 13:26 King Saul--Jonathan didn't become his heir.
• 13:29 So we say, what is it that God's looking for as criteria?
• 13:32 Why wouldn't he send it through the bloodline of heredity?
• 13:35 He sends it to those who have the heart.
• 13:37 God looks at the heart, and that's what we see here as Moses
• 13:41 hands over the mantle to Joshua.
• 13:42 Joshua had the heart next to lead the people.
• 13:45 Caleb: Well, Moses always had his eye on Joshua since Joshua
• 13:47 was his minister, his attendant, and he renamed Joshua according
• 13:52 to the Lord's direction.
• 13:54 Joshua's original name was Hoshea or Hosea,
• 13:56 which meant "salvation," and he renames him Yehoshua,
• 14:00 "the Lord is salvation," same name for Yeshua,
• 14:02 the Messiah.
• 14:04 And we look back in Exodus chapter 17,
• 14:07 when the Israelites were first coming out of Egypt into the
• 14:10 Promised Land, you know, the bullies,
• 14:11 the Amalekites, showed them, like,
• 14:13 "Hey, let's pick on those guys," and Moses selected Joshua
• 14:17 to be the general to lead them into battle.
• 14:20 It was the Battle of Rephidim, and Moses stood on a hill,
• 14:22 and he held the staff of God in his hands.
• 14:24 As long as he held the staff up, the Israelites were winning the
• 14:27 battle, but when he grew tired, started lowering the staff,
• 14:30 then the enemy was winning the battle.
• 14:32 And eventually, the Israelites obtain the victory of that day,
• 14:35 and God released a new name, a new understanding of his person
• 14:39 to the Israelites as Adonai-Nissi,
• 14:42 "The Lord, My Banner."
• 14:44 He wanted the Israelites to know that he was the standard that
• 14:47 flew before them into battle, that they represented his name.
• 14:51 It wasn't about the Israelites.
• 14:52 It was about God's name that they represented,
• 14:55 and so God told Moses to write down the chronicle of this
• 14:59 battle that would happen and rehearse it in the ears of
• 15:02 Joshua in the future so that Joshua would remember,
• 15:06 knowing in the future, that he would be the leader,
• 15:08 that God was always with him,
• 15:09 that he was the Lord of the armies.
• 15:11 Joshua: I get the sense that, even though Joshua was always
• 15:13 known for his exploits, that maybe he didn't feel the courage
• 15:16 that's represented by his name.
• 15:17 God gently keeps encouraging him, "Be strong.
• 15:20 Take courage. Stand up, Joshua."
• 15:22 So maybe Joshua didn't feel, in his emotions,
• 15:24 the courage that God called him to,
• 15:26 but courage isn't about emotions.
• 15:28 It's about stepping out in faith.
• 15:30 So we're gonna step back to Dr. Seif now and find out what
• 15:32 happened in that rebellion at Mount Sinai.
• 15:37 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Moshe Rabbeinu,
• 15:38 Moses, is up there on the mountain,
• 15:39 and Joshua is with him, and Joshua hears something.
• 15:42 We're told later, in the 32nd chapter--
• 15:46 we're skipping over a few here, but we wanna get to the life of
• 15:50 Joshua and his confidence that he is going to, with them,
• 15:57 make it into Eretz Kena'an, the land of Canaan.
• 16:00 The word "confidence" comes from the Latin "con fide,"
• 16:03 and it's "with faith."
• 16:05 There's something in the heart that just prompts you to believe
• 16:08 that you have a future, and you not only needed it back then to
• 16:11 win wars; you need it today.
• 16:14 You need it today; I need it today,
• 16:16 a kind of faith to reach into the future.
• 16:19 Well, we're following this man before he becomes a leader,
• 16:22 and Moshe Rabbeinu here is the principal.
• 16:26 Joshua has not been given the mantle yet,
• 16:28 but he's there, and he hears there's a problem.
• 16:32 He's at a place where he hears that all of Israel has,
• 16:35 kind of, slidden off the rails.
• 16:37 It kind of happens.
• 16:39 We're told here "Joshua heard the noise," and we're told--
• 16:44 [speaking in Hebrew]
• 16:45 and then he pivots and says to Moses--
• 16:49 [speaking in Hebrew]
• 16:52 "There is the noise of war in the camp."
• 16:56 And this precipitates then the descent from the mountain.
• 17:00 I'm sure you know the story.
• 17:03 Moshe Rabbeinu was not a happy camper.
• 17:05 The luchos, the tablets, that were given to him by the Lord,
• 17:09 according to the literature, he throws down at his feet,
• 17:13 not on his feet but at 'em, grinds 'em into powder.
• 17:16 I mean, it's just a really bad moment,
• 17:21 but against the turbulence of those trying times,
• 17:25 there's a man who shines not just at this moment,
• 17:29 but elsewhere at these pivotal moments when we look at the life
• 17:34 of Moshe Rabbeinu, we see this fella,
• 17:37 Yehoshua, in the shadows.
• 17:40 But, eventually, he won't just be in the shadows.
• 17:43 He himself will be at the vanguard as the principal
• 17:48 leader, but we're not there yet.
• 17:51 Oh, you know the story of the golden calf.
• 17:54 It's bad. It's bad.
• 17:57 And there's a judgment that's meted out.
• 18:00 And I should say that, if you look at that judgment,
• 18:02 the 3,000 or so were slain according to the literature
• 18:06 in the book of Exodus, and that's interesting,
• 18:09 not to glory in anyone's death, but what's fascinating,
• 18:13 on the day when Moshe Rabbeinu comes down with the luchos,
• 18:20 there's a day the Jews celebrate.
• 18:22 It's called Chag Z'man Matan Torateinu,
• 18:23 the Feast of the Giving of the Torah.
• 18:26 It's known by a Greek term
• 18:28 to New Testament readers--Pentecost.
• 18:31 It's fascinating.
• 18:33 In the New Testament world, Jews are assembled in Jerusalem.
• 18:37 We're told in Acts chapter 2, when the day of Pentecost
• 18:40 had fully come, they were gathered together,
• 18:42 and we're told then that the Ruach HaKo'desh,
• 18:45 that the Holy Spirit fell upon them,
• 18:48 and we're told subsequent to that,
• 18:49 then, on that very day, we're told that Peter gets up
• 18:53 and preaches, and that 3,000 people come to life.
• 18:56 They're baptized. They get saved.
• 18:58 I don't think it's an accident.
• 18:59 It's on that day, that very day, this day,
• 19:02 this moment, when Moshe Rabbeinu comes down from the mountain,
• 19:06 that 3,000 people are lost.
• 19:08 When the law was given, when the Torah was given,
• 19:10 it went south.
• 19:13 Fast forward the tape, in the New Testament world,
• 19:15 it's on that very day when this New Covenant is poured out,
• 19:20 3,000 people come to life.
• 19:21 I think God's balancing his ledger.
• 19:24 It's a fascinating story, but I don't wanna push everything over
• 19:27 to the New Testament world yet because I wanna look at a man
• 19:31 who was more than just a conqueror.
• 19:36 We see it here that Moses is gone and Joshua with him,
• 19:40 and Aaron does a really bad job there at the camp.
• 19:43 I'm not impressed with him.
• 19:45 He comes up with these cockamamy excuses when Moses comes down:
• 19:48 "Well, you know, the people--" you know, where's leadership?
• 19:51 Where is that spine?
• 19:53 Where is that dogged determination?
• 19:55 Aaron just kind of pivots and lays the blame on the people.
• 19:58 He's a little weak.
• 20:00 Now, in all fairness, this is all brand-new to them.
• 20:02 They're all just getting their feet underneath them,
• 20:04 but Joshua is different.
• 20:07 He seems, to me, steady as steady can be.
• 20:09 Joshua: Make it very clear.
• 20:11 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: This is the guy, later on,
• 20:12 by the way, and now I'm pivoting to the end
• 20:14 of the Joshua story, and here, my purpose is just to begin it
• 20:18 in this great series on "More Than Just a Conqueror."
• 20:22 One of the more famous lines, to speak of this conqueror,
• 20:25 later on, he's going to be resolute,
• 20:27 and you'll hear it in his voice when it's penned in the
• 20:30 literature, for all the ages, when he says,
• 20:34 "As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."
• 20:41 In fact, at the beginning of the book Joshua--
• 20:44 and we'll get to that in the next program.
• 20:47 We'll be seeing more of the particulars of the book as we
• 20:49 consider the story of Joshua.
• 20:52 But the Lord tells him that
• 20:53 "you will cause these people to inherit."
• 20:57 That is, "Joshua, you fear not."
• 20:59 You know, it takes someone with that "eye of the tiger,"
• 21:02 with that dogged determination, with that faith,
• 21:06 faith in God, and for my readers and for me,
• 21:10 a faith that's revealed in the person of Jesus.
• 21:14 It's that dogged determination to--
• 21:17 you know, Paul tells Timothy
• 21:19 "to seize, to lay hold of the eternal life."
• 21:22 It takes that because, if you don't have the resolve to do it,
• 21:26 if you are not going to say, "As for me and my house,
• 21:30 we will serve the Lord--"
• 21:32 we live in a world today where, oftentimes,
• 21:34 it's the woman who's more religious,
• 21:36 more pious, drags the kids off to church,
• 21:39 Sunday school, kind of leans on her husband to put some money
• 21:42 in the offering plate.
• 21:43 Better it is that it's a man who's like Joshua,
• 21:48 who is doggedly determined to be more than just a conqueror,
• 21:52 in a religious sense, to leave a legacy.
• 21:55 If it's a male of the species in a family system who puts
• 21:58 his stamp--that it's his determination that leads in this
• 22:03 regard that "me and my house, this is who we're going to be."
• 22:10 If Daddy does it, there's a much better chance that the children
• 22:13 will live it out in the next generation.
• 22:15 I saw a wonderful study to prove that up,
• 22:18 and I think it's a great point, and I'm gonna close this program
• 22:21 on that point, reminding that, in as much as Joshua was more
• 22:27 than just a conqueror, let's take a cue from him and be more
• 22:32 than just a conqueror ourselves.
• 22:37 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Now over to my very good friend,
• 22:40 Chaim Malespin, a leader in the Israeli Defense Forces--
• 22:45 had the opportunity-- connect with him in Israel,
• 22:47 where he taught us about leadership.
• 22:51 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Master Sergeant Malespin,
• 22:53 everyone wants to be the big leader.
• 22:55 What do they teach you in the Israeli Defense Forces about
• 22:58 being an assistant, about being a follower?
• 23:01 Chaim Malespin: It's all about being a team and
• 23:03 understanding the chain of command and being able
• 23:04 to follow orders.
• 23:06 And part of our core values that we are sworn to follow,
• 23:10 the ten core values, I know there's purity of arms;
• 23:12 there's personal example, but the main one is
• 23:14 to be a team player.
• 23:15 I remember, when I joined this unit--this is my unit,
• 23:17 Yahalom, which the special forces for special missions
• 23:21 and tactics.
• 23:22 It's Combat Engineer Corps.
• 23:24 And so we were trained that, when we do the initiation,
• 23:28 we had to actually carry our friend up a mountain and down.
• 23:32 And, you know, they continually watch you,
• 23:33 and I don't know what they're watching for,
• 23:35 but they're looking for integrity,
• 23:36 they're looking for tenacity of mission,
• 23:38 they're looking for personal example,
• 23:39 and they're looking for someone who's a team player.
• 23:41 And so, when they saw that I was helping people,
• 23:43 it just was in my--I wasn't trained for that in the army.
• 23:46 That was from my home I was trained in this and how
• 23:49 to follow orders.
• 23:50 And they said, "You continue to take care of your friends,"
• 23:53 and when I did that, I noticed that they kept on writing my
• 23:56 name down on these little notes, and what that was is every time
• 23:59 I helped someone--and you get a certain amount,
• 24:02 and that's how I was accepted to this unit.
• 24:04 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: It's an elite unit.
• 24:05 And it's interesting, too, in the Bible,
• 24:07 Joshua shows himself faithful behind the scenes all the time
• 24:10 before he gets the mantle of command.
• 24:13 Chaim: Absolutely.
• 24:14 I know that Israel's army has had many numerous highlights.
• 24:18 I remember when we first got to the Wailing Wall,
• 24:20 you know, in the modern rebirth of Israel in 1967,
• 24:24 and they went in there as a team,
• 24:25 and they risked their lives to go behind then was enemy lines
• 24:29 which, way back in the day, was a Jebusite city,
• 24:31 but then, like now, there is this ability to say,
• 24:34 "Hey, will we maintain our trust in the God of Israel and even
• 24:38 our trust in the ones who are mandated leaders over us?"
• 24:41 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: So you have to be trustworthy.
• 24:43 Thanks, Sarge.

• 24:47 David: Both Dr. Seif and Chaim are really good role
• 24:51 models as leaders, leadership.
• 24:53 Now we have you guys who have taken on the mantle
• 24:57 as a leadership role with us.
• 24:59 Caleb: And we take it seriously.
• 25:01 This is not something we accepted passively.
• 25:04 Lots of prayer, and we wanna emulate Messiah in all things
• 25:09 and bring glory to his name, so it's not about us.
• 25:11 We're just his servants just as much as y'all guys are or the
• 25:15 people who donate.
• 25:16 It's all God's ministry.
• 25:18 It's not ours, so we're just part of his hands and feet just
• 25:20 like everyone else.
• 25:21 Kirsten: And I feel that, even as a mother--
• 25:25 and we have grown sons--
• 25:27 that when you were even in your mother's arms being rocked--
• 25:29 and your mom, I know your mom prayed over both
• 25:32 of you--little did she know that, one day,
• 25:35 you would both be sitting in this seat of position and
• 25:40 authority and wisdom and insight and that God has,
• 25:44 I believe, anointed both of you for such a time as this,
• 25:50 and no moment of your life has been wasted,
• 25:53 and the wisdom that God has poured into you,
• 25:56 you will be pouring into people, all these people.
• 25:58 All these cameras will be soaking that up,
• 26:01 and it's not a light position.
• 26:05 It comes with much responsibility,
• 26:07 but God has already appointed you for that.
• 26:09 Joshua: Thank you very much. We receive that.
• 26:11 The responsibility is great.
• 26:13 God shows Joshua, in this story, that "this is somethin'
• 26:17 I've called you to, but because of your obedience and you
• 26:20 fulfilling the requirements, that is why the Israelites are
• 26:22 gonna get into the Promised Land
• 26:24 because of you fulfilling these actions."
• 26:26 So the calling comes with responsibility,
• 26:29 and when you know that's your position and it's not just for
• 26:32 your life but there's all these other lives that hang
• 26:35 in the balance, if you will, based off of you doing what God
• 26:38 called you to do, you realize it's not about popularity;
• 26:41 it's not about fame-- it's about the responsibility,
• 26:43 the price being paid so that others can see the fulfillment
• 26:46 of Yeshua.
• 26:48 David: That's good.
• 26:49 Kirsten: As they will through both of you and,
• 26:50 we pray, through us also as we join together and as all of you
• 26:55 join in financially keeping us alive,
• 26:59 keeping us to keep this message, the beautiful Jewish roots of
