Episode: “The Physical Realm”
Jeff defines a miracle as the suspension of the laws of nature. Whether it be changing water to wine or transforming the damaged limbs of a paralyzed man into healthy limbs, the Lord moves in mysterious ways both yesterday and today. (Luke 24:16)
Series: “The God of Miracles”
We can’t go far in the Bible without encountering a miracle. When the universe was created, the Spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters (Genesis 1:2). When all seemed hopeless, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day (Matthew 28:6). In this nine-part series, we show our miraculous God at work from Genesis to Revelation, with teachings from the Holy Land by Dr. Jeffrey Seif. We also hear testimonials from those who have experienced the Lord’s supernatural hand in their own lives.

- 02:30 Jeffrey: Wedding ceremonies can be complex events.
- 02:35 This indeed was true in John chapter 2.
- 02:37 As you might recall, there was a problem with food and beverage.
- 02:42 Beverage management wasn't doing so good.
- 02:44 I mention that because as this thing is going on someone
- 02:47 reports to Yeshua, his own mother no less, "Look, that the
- 02:50 wine is gone out.
- 02:52 We have a problem.
- 02:53 Big day, a wedding."
- 02:55 Coming to you from Israel here, a wedding venue no less,
- 03:00 I'm reminded of the fact that, again, these things
- 03:02 can be very complex.
- 03:03 Someone wasn't sufficiently prepared for the moment and the
- 03:08 net result is there was a need at a critical time.
- 03:15 You might be in a place in your life where there's been a lack
- 03:17 of preparation.
- 03:18 The net result is there's a critical need.
- 03:21 Well, this is a program on miracles.
- 03:24 And I'm not interested in inventing miracles much as I am
- 03:28 beckoning individuals to return to the stories where they see
- 03:32 that miracles indeed take place.
- 03:35 I mentioned that hear they didn't have any wine.
- 03:38 Yeshua however had them pour water.
- 03:42 And the miracle was as the water was poured...
- 03:51 and it was transformed into wine.
- 03:55 The word transform, metamorphe, metamorphosis.
- 04:01 Transformed from the Latin trans means to crossover.
- 04:05 That is to say water crosses over into a new kind of form.
- 04:12 Now, when individuals take it in they're surprised as the wedding
- 04:20 feast is going on apparently uninterrupted by this.
- 04:23 This was a problem behind the scenes.
- 04:26 And, you know, when you have a business there can be a lot of
- 04:28 problems behind the scenes.
- 04:30 This is a problem behind the scenes.
- 04:32 And what happens then as the wedding event continues--and the
- 04:36 fruit of the vine, you know, some say it was fermented,
- 04:40 some not.
- 04:41 Don't want to get into that.
- 04:42 Whatever it was, it was water and then it was some grape
- 04:44 substance after that.
- 04:47 The point is those who experienced the new beverage
- 04:50 says, "Look, everyone brings out the good wine first, and then
- 04:54 when they're drunk, the worse, but you've reserved
- 04:57 the good until now."
- 05:01 You ever heard the expression the best is yet to come?

- 05:12 You start off with the good wine and then you cheapen it
- 05:14 when people can't notice it."
- 05:16 Now, people have been known to do some creative things
- 05:20 at wedding.
- 05:21 I'm guilty as charged.
- 05:23 In my own wedding with Barry we had 500 in attendance.
- 05:26 I ask, "How much is a wedding cake for 500 people?"
- 05:29 I found out.
- 05:30 Well, after that I opted for a big tiered wedding cake.

- 05:50 They didn't know the difference.
- 05:52 Here there's no trickery involved.

- 19:07 And as Jill grew, this was a lifelong thing that she may be
- 19:10 needing, they would need to remove the shunt and put a
- 19:14 longer one in because of her growth.
- 19:17 And then he went on to say that because of this, because of
- 19:23 either the operation or the pressure that already in her
- 19:26 brain with the hydrocephalus, this is what her prognosis was:
- 19:31 she would never walk, she'd be wheelchair-bound for the rest of
- 19:33 her life, she would, in his words, be retarded and not to be
- 19:38 able to communicate with us, she would need 24-hour/7 care, she
- 19:43 would probably be blind, she would most likely be deaf, and
- 19:46 that the best thing for her would for us to stop
- 19:50 feeding her.
- 19:52 Caleb: Well, that is terrible.
- 19:54 That is a doctor who told you this?

- 19:57 Caleb: He gave you a bad report and then he offered to
- 19:59 basically kill your baby for you.
- 20:01 Char: That's what I said. "You mean she's going to die."
- 20:03 And he said, "Ma'am, you need to understand this is going to be
- 20:06 a hardship for you.
- 20:07 It's going to be a big financial hardship because her care
- 20:11 will be expensive.
- 20:13 It will be a hardship on your marriage, on your future family,
- 20:18 children, on the son that you have because you're spending all
- 20:20 your time and energy and money on one child with low quality
- 20:23 of life."
- 20:25 Caleb: You know, my wife, she--for the last 12 years she's
- 20:28 worked as a nurse in high risk pregnancies and deliveries and
- 20:31 things just like this.
- 20:35 And it's hard, but I've never, you know, heard until reading
- 20:39 your story, hearing your story from you that a doctor
- 20:41 would ask that.
- 20:43 That a doctor would say, "Here, let's take care of that for
- 20:45 you," as if that's a problem.
- 20:47 This is your child.
- 20:48 You love your child, and it goes acco--I know it goes against
- 20:51 everything in your body, in your heart as a believer as well.
- 20:54 Am I right?
- 20:56 Char: Oh, I'm right. I just said, "No.
- 20:58 No, this is a child of God and you do everything you can
- 21:01 to save her life."
- 21:03 Caleb: That's right.
- 21:04 Char: And so they weren't going to do the shunt
- 21:05 right away.
- 21:07 They decided to put her in diuretics first to try to draw
- 21:10 the fluid off of her brain, but every week she'd get an
- 21:13 ultrasound, and the ultrasound did not show any decrease in the
- 21:17 ventricles of her brain.
- 21:19 So when she was 7 weeks old, the doctor said, "We're going to
- 21:23 schedule a shunt for surgery, but first we want to do a CAT
- 21:26 scan so we have a more clear picture of what we're doing,
- 21:30 and we will meet with you tomorrow morning."
- 21:33 So my husband and I went the next morning to the hospital.
- 21:37 And the doctor came in with his films and put on that big light
- 21:39 box, and first he put up the film that showed the
- 21:42 ultrasounds, and yes, the ventricles were large even to a
- 21:46 non-medical eye.
- 21:48 They looked like rivers of water in her brain.
- 21:51 But then he put up the CAT scan from the previous day, and the
- 21:53 front ventricles were normal sized and the back ventricles
- 21:58 were only slightly larger than normal.
- 22:02 And he said, "These ventricles are okay at this size.
- 22:06 It's not causing pressure on the brain.
- 22:08 And this is an absolutely amazing thing."
- 22:12 And my husband said, "Well, this is the miracle we have been
- 22:14 praying for."
- 22:16 And the doctor said, "Call it what you want, but it's never
- 22:19 happened without surgical intervention."
- 22:21 Caleb: Doctors never want to admit that, do they?
- 22:23 That it was someone outside of them that caused that, but
