Episode: “Harpazo”
Joshua and Caleb look back at their Social Media teachings as the Bearded Bible Brothers. One issue seems to be very divisive among followers of Jesus today – the catching up or rapture of the church. The Brothers dive into the scriptures for answers.

Caption transcript for “Harpazo”

  • 00:10 ♪♪♪ David Hart: We are so glad you're with us today.
  • 00:12 We are your students today.
  • 00:15 Some things that we thought maybe we knew but maybe we're
  • 00:18 wrong, so we need your insight, you teaching today, guys.
  • 00:21 Kirsten Hart: Teach us, teach us today.
  • 00:22 Today's about the rapture, right, but kind of some
  • 00:25 different angles on the rapture and what's happening in
  • 00:29 society now?
  • 00:30 Joshua Colson: Well, if you've never seen "The Bearded Bible
  • 00:32 Brothers" episodes that we have on social media, this is where
  • 00:35 we show you some classic episodes on "Our Jewish Roots."
  • 00:38 It's weird to say classic, I know, apparently we have classic
  • 00:41 episodes, this is amazing.
  • 00:42 But throughout all these episodes, there's probably a top
  • 00:45 two controversial topic list that we get often, which means
  • 00:49 that we should stay away, but we're not, we're gonna deal with
  • 00:51 it, and two of them are the identity of the two witnesses.
  • 00:57 Don't go near that, people get angry, and the rapture.
  • 01:01 We're definitely gonna talk about it, but then it's
  • 01:03 the rapture.
  • 01:04 Now, it used to be when I was growing up, it was is it
  • 01:06 gonna happen pre-trib, is it gonna be mid-trib, is it gonna
  • 01:08 be post-trib, now it is does it exist, is there a rapture?
  • 01:13 So, we're gonna talk about this "harpazo."
  • 01:15 Caleb Colson: That's right, I believe the Father has
  • 01:17 established prophetically a moment in time to spare his
  • 01:21 children from wrath.
  • 01:22 I feel it's very important.
  • 01:24 He's gonna honor the sacrifice of his Son, Yeshua, and spare
  • 01:27 his bride from judgments and plagues and all that things that
  • 01:30 are gonna happen in the tribulation because he's a good
  • 01:32 God, because he loves us, and why else would he do that just
  • 01:37 because he's our Father?
  • 01:38 And so, it's become popular today to frown upon this because
  • 01:43 of COVID and all these things that have happened, and people
  • 01:45 are saying, no, we're in the tribulation now, look at all
  • 01:48 these terrible things that are happening, God's gonna make us
  • 01:49 go through that.
  • 01:51 I don't believe that.
  • 01:52 Kirsten: Very interesting, I'm ready.
  • 01:54 I'm ready for today.
  • 01:55 David: Yeah, right now we take you to the guy's teaching,
  • 01:56 let's go there now.
  • 01:59 Joshua: Hey, everybody, I'm Joshua.
  • 02:01 Caleb: And I'm Caleb.
  • 02:02 Joshua: We're brothers. Caleb: This is true.
  • 02:05 Now, we know there's a lot of crazy things that have been
  • 02:06 going on in the world and some of you have been led back to the
  • 02:09 scriptures wondering what happens next.
  • 02:12 We've kind of talked about the rapture in a few episodes
  • 02:14 before, but we want to give you the complete, unabridged version
  • 02:17 of the rapture.
  • 02:19 Joshua: That's a lot of lack of bridging, I don't know, but I
  • 02:22 gotta tell you, when crazy things like, you know, the gym
  • 02:25 closing and masks everywhere happen, one first thinks that
  • 02:30 maybe it's the end of the world.
  • 02:31 Caleb: That's true, now, the word "rapture," you know, does
  • 02:33 not appear in scriptures.
  • 02:35 The Greek word "harpazo" does, which means to cease, to carry
  • 02:40 off by force, or to snatch away.
  • 02:41 This is a literal you're walking around one day and then you're
  • 02:44 just ripped off the earth.
  • 02:46 Now, this is for believers only, not people who do not believe
  • 02:49 in Yeshua.
  • 02:51 Joshua: That's what that suctioning, that ripping off of
  • 02:52 the earth is talked about in Matthew 24:30 where it says,
  • 02:56 "Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then
  • 02:59 all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son
  • 03:02 of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and
  • 03:04 great glory.
  • 03:06 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and
  • 03:08 they will gather together His elect from four winds, from the
  • 03:10 end of the heaven to the other," hashtag harpazo.
  • 03:15 Caleb: Yes, so harpazo, we know that this is a rapture of
  • 03:18 believers and that we know that Yeshua said this is his coming
  • 03:23 in the clouds.
  • 03:25 This isn't the second coming that many of you have read about
  • 03:27 when he steps foot on the Mount of Olives.
  • 03:29 He returns in the same manner that he left, which was on the
  • 03:32 Mount of Olives.
  • 03:33 That happens at the end of the tribulation.
  • 03:35 This is in the clouds, we meet him in the air, and like I said,
  • 03:38 we've spoken about this in consideration of the seven
  • 03:40 churches, the parable of the ten virgins, and even of the seven
  • 03:46 feasts of Israel, but we'd like to remind you with a surety
  • 03:50 that there is a rapture.
  • 03:52 Joshua: Is a rapture, there isn't, there is a
  • 03:54 harpazo, literally.
  • 03:56 Almost tricked you there, didn't we?
  • 03:58 First Thessalonians 4:16-17 says, "The Lord Himself shall
  • 04:02 descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
  • 04:05 archangel, with the trumpet of God.
  • 04:06 And the dead in Christ shall rise first.
  • 04:08 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with
  • 04:12 them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
  • 04:14 And so shall we ever be with the Lord."
  • 04:16 Caleb: Now, this is a physical rapture of our bodies.
  • 04:19 Our souls and our spirits take part of that, but there's people
  • 04:22 in heaven right now, the saints of old, our relatives who died,
  • 04:25 they're in heaven and they're waiting for their
  • 04:26 glorified bodies.
  • 04:28 Joshua: Wait, so our bodies go but everybody else who's died up
  • 04:31 there, they don't have their bodies?
  • 04:33 Caleb: No, no, no, no, the dead in Christ are gonna rise first
  • 04:36 the scripture says, and then we who are remaining will be caught
  • 04:40 up together with them in clouds.
  • 04:41 Joshua: But isn't their bodies like skeletons now?
  • 04:44 Caleb: Yes, the skeletons will go up to heaven, Josh.
  • 04:46 1 Corinthians 15:53 explains this.
  • 04:49 "For this corruptible man must put on inc corruption, this
  • 04:52 mortal must put on immortality."
  • 04:54 We will all get glorified bodies, they'll be fantastic,
  • 04:56 we'll be just like Yeshua.
  • 04:57 We can fly, we can translate, we can walk through walls.
  • 05:00 We don't have to eat anything, we'll never get sick, we'll
  • 05:03 never have ouchies again.
  • 05:04 Joshua: Can I still eat though?
  • 05:05 Caleb: You can still eat?
  • 05:07 I mean, we have the marriage supper of the Lamb, we have
  • 05:08 the tree of life, so we'll be able to eat, but we won't have
  • 05:11 the necessity to eat.
  • 05:13 Now, we explained previously that this rapture is associated
  • 05:17 with the harvest, and we've seen the parable of the wheat and
  • 05:20 the tears.
  • 05:21 We are the wheat, the world is the tears, and we are harvested
  • 05:25 by the angels, and there is a harvest of unbelievers that is
  • 05:28 coming, it talks about a revelation and equates the
  • 05:30 unbelievers with grapes, Josh, and Yeshua has to harvest them
  • 05:34 with a sickle and crushes those grapes and the grape juice fills
  • 05:37 up the entire Valley of Armageddon up to the horse's
  • 05:39 bridle with blood, Revelation 14:17-20.
  • 05:43 Joshua: That's a lot of blood.
  • 05:45 Caleb: That is a lot of blood.
  • 05:46 Joshua: I've seen it before, it's a really big valley.
  • 05:47 Caleb: It's huge, now, we know that the seven feasts of Israel
  • 05:52 foreshadow Yeshua's coming.
  • 05:53 We have the first four feasts that were fulfilled
  • 05:56 with his death, burial, resurrection, the indwelling of
  • 06:00 the Holy Spirit, and then we have this fifth feast which is
  • 06:02 the feast of trumpets, Yom Teruah, Rosh Hashanah, and we
  • 06:05 believe that Yeshua could with possibility come on
  • 06:08 Rosh Hashanah, even Zola Levitt taught this,
  • 06:11 because we know that Yom Kippur,
  • 06:13 the great day of atonement, that is the great and terrible day of
  • 06:16 the Lord.
  • 06:18 That ends the tribulation period, and we know on Sukot,
  • 06:20 the feast of tabernacles, Messiah Yeshua begins reigning
  • 06:24 on the earth, so why not, if he fulfills seven feasts on the
  • 06:28 day, he could possibly fulfill the feast of trumpets for
  • 06:32 the rupture.
  • 06:33 Joshua: I mean, that makes sense.
  • 06:34 Caleb: It makes sense, but people say you don't know the
  • 06:36 day every hour that he's gonna come.
  • 06:38 Joshua: But you know, you do know, you know what season it's
  • 06:41 gonna happen, and that is something that we are told to
  • 06:44 look for.
  • 06:45 Caleb: Israel the fig tree.
  • 06:47 Joshua: Thessalonians 5:1-11 explains that we're being the
  • 06:50 sos of light and that the times and the seasons that we're
  • 06:53 supposed to be aware of everything that's happened in
  • 06:54 the world is to guide us so that we know what time we're
  • 06:57 living in.
  • 06:58 Caleb: Exactly, because the thief coming in the night.
  • 07:00 It says Yeshua will come like a thief in the night.
  • 07:01 That's meant for the a world, Paul says, those who
  • 07:04 are unbelievers.
  • 07:05 We're supposed to know the times and the seasons, and in verse 9
  • 07:07 he says we're supposed to know because, "For God did not
  • 07:10 appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our
  • 07:13 Lord Jesus Christ."
  • 07:15 Joshua: But I've heard a lot of different people with really big
  • 07:19 hair in churches over the years, and they've told me that I'm
  • 07:24 gonna have to be tribuled, which is what I call--that's short
  • 07:26 term for tribulation.
  • 07:28 So, I might have to be mid-tribuuled, or
  • 07:31 like post-tribuled.
  • 07:32 How do you know, or why would you think that we don't have to
  • 07:35 get tribuled?
  • 07:37 Caleb: Well, logically speaking, there's literally no reason for
  • 07:39 a rapture to take place unless sparing God's people from wrath,
  • 07:42 from his judgment.
  • 07:44 And say you have a mid-trib rapture, so why would you have
  • 07:48 to suffer through the judgments and the things that are coming
  • 07:51 along with the beast and then get caught up?
  • 07:53 Why would you have to be raptured at the end of the
  • 07:56 tribulation if you survive all the beheadings only to return
  • 07:59 two minutes later on a white horse and fight with Yeshua.
  • 08:01 It doesn't make much sense.
  • 08:03 Because of God's goodness, his grace, and his mercy, he wants
  • 08:06 to spare us from what is gonna happen.
  • 08:08 We see that in the Old Testament when God spared Lot from Sodom
  • 08:12 and Gomorrah.
  • 08:14 Lot was a scoundrel, he still spared him for Abraham's sake,
  • 08:16 and Abraham petitioned God about sparing Sodom and Gomorrah and
  • 08:20 he said if ten righteous people would be in Sodom and Gomorrah
  • 08:23 he would spare the entire city.
  • 08:25 Joshua: So, you're suggesting that if God would save everybody
  • 08:28 for ten people, that he might just go ahead and save all of us
  • 08:32 before we get tribuled.
  • 08:34 In Genesis 18:25 it says, "Far be it from you to do such a
  • 08:37 thing, to put the righteous to death with the wicked, so that
  • 08:40 the righteous fair as the wicked!
  • 08:42 Far be that from you!
  • 08:44 Shall not the Judge of all the earth do what is just?"
  • 08:49 Caleb: Okay, so what's taking Yeshua so long to return?
  • 08:52 It's been 2,000 years.
  • 08:54 Well, Matthew 24:14 says, "The Good News of the Kingdom will be
  • 08:57 preached to the whole world for a testimony to all nations, and
  • 09:00 then the end will come."
  • 09:01 The Father is giving ample time for everyone to hear the truth.
  • 09:05 Joshua: He wants as many people in.
  • 09:06 Caleb: He wants as many people in heaven.
  • 09:08 Joshua: Okay, this makes sense.
  • 09:09 I was like, hey, things are pretty crazy here, why is this
  • 09:12 not happening yet?
  • 09:13 He doesn't want anybody else to go to hell.
  • 09:14 Caleb: And in Revelation 2 and 3, this message to the seven
  • 09:17 churches is all about warning the churches to repent and get
  • 09:20 your hearts right back with God, because he's coming soon and he
  • 09:22 wants to spare you from the judgment.
  • 09:23 Joshua: Revelation 3:10, because you have kept my command to
  • 09:26 persevere, "I also will keep you from the hour of trial which
  • 09:30 shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on
  • 09:33 the earth."
  • 09:35 I'm not convinced yet though.
  • 09:36 Caleb: Okay, what I call the icing on the cake, one of my
  • 09:38 favorite scriptures in the Bible, the Thessalonican
  • 09:40 church.
  • 09:42 They thought they missed the great and terrible day of
  • 09:44 the Lord.
  • 09:45 They thought, oh, man, all these terrible things are happening,
  • 09:47 judgment's already come, and Paul has to write to him and he
  • 09:49 says, guys, you got your eschatology off a little bit.
  • 09:52 He says there's things that have to happen before the great and
  • 09:55 terrible day of the Lord comes.
  • 09:56 You have to see apostasy show up in the church, a great apostasy.
  • 09:59 He said you gotta see this guy named the Antichrist, the beast
  • 10:02 show up and commit abominations of desolation.
  • 10:05 But very interesting though, he says there's something that
  • 10:09 keeps the beast from appearing on this earth.
  • 10:12 Joshua: And that's the apostasy, which is not the same thing is
  • 10:15 what happens at the doctor when you turn 40.
  • 10:16 Caleb: He says we're gonna see an apostacy coming around now,
  • 10:19 but he says what is withholding the beast from appearing on
  • 10:21 the earth?
  • 10:23 Joshua: 2 Thessalonians 2:6-8 is what it is in case you
  • 10:25 were wondering.
  • 10:26 That is, "And you know what is restraining him that he may be
  • 10:30 revealed in his own time.
  • 10:32 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, only He who
  • 10:36 now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
  • 10:40 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will
  • 10:43 consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the
  • 10:45 brightness of His coming."
  • 10:47 That is an entrance, if your brightness is enough to destroy
  • 10:52 what's happening.
  • 10:53 Caleb: So that he that restrains the beast, it's a capital He in
  • 10:57 scripture, people know this is talking about one of the people
  • 11:02 of God in general, one of the Trinity, we believe it's the
  • 11:05 Holy Spirit because that Holy Spirit lives inside of us, and
  • 11:09 we have the same power and authority as Yeshua.
  • 11:11 He defeated the devil 2,000 years ago, so imagine what would
  • 11:14 happen if the beast came on the earth now.
  • 11:16 Just one believer, one person with the Holy Spirit living
  • 11:19 inside of them could say I rebuke you, devil, get off that,
  • 11:22 you know, Ark of the Covenant, and he he'd run away from us.
  • 11:25 So, we have to be removed, Josh, for the beast to be revealed.
  • 11:28 The Holy Spirit has to be taken out of the way.
  • 11:29 Joshua: And this is a great reminder for people that we've
  • 11:31 talked about not living in fear, but the authority of the you
  • 11:34 have through Yeshua, this verse pointing out that if simply one
  • 11:38 believer, I don't know about your walk, I haven't necessarily
  • 11:41 thought that I was gonna be the Antichrist killer myself when I
  • 11:44 was living my best Christian life, but that's how powerful he
  • 11:48 who is inside of you is.
  • 11:49 That if just one was left, that it would be impossible for the
  • 11:52 Antichrist to be here while you're on this earth.
  • 11:54 Caleb: So, we want you to be watchful, to be ready, look for
  • 11:57 the signs of Yeshua's coming.
  • 11:58 He could come any day now, and get your hearts right.
  • 12:01 [shofar sounds]
  • 12:07 Kirsten: Social media can be an interesting platform.
  • 12:10 People enjoy giving their opinions, and apparently you've
  • 12:14 had a lot of people give opinions about rapture and being
  • 12:18 in tribulation, and I'm shocked to hear from the two of you that
  • 12:22 people think we could be in the tribulation time now because
  • 12:26 of COVID?
  • 12:27 Caleb: More people than think are believing this, and it's
  • 12:30 shocking to me because they're not using scripture as a
  • 12:32 reference, they're using their feelings, they're using their
  • 12:35 experiences, and most importantly, they're not
  • 12:39 studying the Word of God for themselves.
  • 12:40 There's also people, I mean, because everybody can have a
  • 12:43 platform on social media, you can have your own channel, you
  • 12:45 can have this, and people are preaching as they are prophets.
  • 12:48 Prophet this said this, prophet this said this seal was open,
  • 12:51 prophet this said that seal was open and this judgment has
  • 12:54 happened and this horseman came, and none of it's scriptural but
  • 12:58 people are believing it because it tickles their ears.
  • 13:01 Scripture says, you know, they would find doctrine that tickles
  • 13:03 their ears and they like it.
  • 13:05 You know, this is something that can energize them and let's
  • 13:08 build our tribulation bomb shelters and prepare for
  • 13:12 the worst.
  • 13:13 That's all about self.
  • 13:15 Joshua: Yeah, that's what I was gonna say.
  • 13:16 I've never understood the ear tickling thing, that didn't make
  • 13:17 sense to me in that translation, but what makes sense to me
  • 13:19 even less is the idea that if you believe this doctrine, if
  • 13:22 all your seals and gaskets and everything is blown and Yeshua
  • 13:24 is coming next, why is it you're only looking out for number one?
  • 13:28 You know, if that was really the case, in all seriousness.
  • 13:31 Kirsten: You mean like storing food?
  • 13:32 Joshua: Yeah, well, not just storing food, but your sole
  • 13:35 focus being prepping for your safety instead of going out and
  • 13:38 ministering to all those who don't know him.
  • 13:40 We keep talking about the end being so near, and that our
  • 13:44 intent needs to be, oh, if we have less time, we need to get
  • 13:47 more people in.
  • 13:48 So, if you did have a bunker, you know, look at Noah
  • 13:52 for instance.
  • 13:53 He was told who to bring, but if you got told you can bring
  • 13:55 anybody you want, what would he have been doing, right?
  • 13:57 Dragging everybody into the ark bunker, but instead we have this
  • 14:01 mindset today of I've got to protect myself.
  • 14:03 I've got to get enough food for me and my family to endure this
  • 14:06 tribulation, and it all goes back to this mistrust that Satan
  • 14:09 wants to propagate in our hearts about God really doesn't love
  • 14:12 you that much, so if you don't look out for you, who's gonna
  • 14:15 look out for you.
  • 14:16 Caleb: We need to have that sense of urgency every day.
  • 14:19 So, if you knew Yeshua could come in five minutes, what would
  • 14:22 you do?
  • 14:24 I'm gonna find my neighbor who doesn't know Yeshua.
  • 14:25 I'm gonna lead him to Christ now.
  • 14:27 This is important that we should live with that sense of urgency
  • 14:30 every day like the ten virgins always keeping that oil filled
  • 14:33 up, the Holy Spirit, our lamps are always going, it's
  • 14:36 very important.
  • 14:37 And so, guys, we're gonna continue this teaching with
  • 14:39 another classic "Bearded Bible Brothers" episode dealing with
  • 14:42 children, justification by faith, and the rapture because
  • 14:45 many people wonder what's going to happen to my kids?
  • 14:47 What if they haven't asked Yeshua in their heart?
  • 14:49 What about the unborn who die, who are miscarried, who
  • 14:52 are aborted?
  • 14:53 We're going to answer those questions right now.
  • 14:58 Joshua: Hi, everyone, I'm Joshua.
  • 15:00 Caleb: And I'm Caleb.
  • 15:01 Joshua: And we're brothers. Caleb: Yes, we are, sir.
  • 15:04 Joshua: You're welcome,
  • 15:05 today we would like to answer something
  • 15:07 that's been asked of us because we always want you guys to talk
  • 15:10 to us and communicate and ask us questions.
  • 15:12 We have a wonderful question, one I should have asked and
  • 15:15 answered a long time ago from Julia Eze.
  • 15:18 Her question is actually kind of piggybacking off of our last
  • 15:21 week's episode about the rapture.
  • 15:23 This question says, "Can you guys please discuss the issue of
  • 15:26 the rapture of the Bride of Christ and if little babies will
  • 15:30 be raptured first before the Bride of Christ.
  • 15:33 Thank you and Shalom."
  • 15:34 Caleb: Okay, so we believe absolutely babies are gonna be
  • 15:37 raptured and we're gonna explain that, children and all that in a
  • 15:41 minute, but first as to the order of events, 1 Thessalonians
  • 15:45 4:16 says the dead in Christ shall rise first.
  • 15:47 So, it's all those saints that are patiently awaiting their
  • 15:50 bodies being glorified like Moses and Jacob, Abraham.
  • 15:54 They're gonna go first and then the rest of us will meet Yeshua
  • 15:57 in the clouds.
  • 15:59 Joshua: So, if you think you've been waiting for a while, those
  • 16:01 guys have been waiting longer.
  • 16:02 Caleb: Now on to babies, people wonder is there any direct
  • 16:06 scripture that says all children are going to escape hellfire
  • 16:10 because they're innocent and all this stuff.
  • 16:11 There really isn't that, but if you know the Father, if you
  • 16:16 really search the scriptures and you understand how he relates
  • 16:19 toward children, you know that they will be spared from a
  • 16:22 rapture, because even in this age of grace we live in now, the
  • 16:26 age of the law, it's always been about justification by faith.
  • 16:30 Joshua: How do we know this, you may ask?
  • 16:32 We know this because of Romans 5:1-2 which says, "Therefore,
  • 16:36 since we have been justified through faith, we have peace
  • 16:39 with God through our Lord Jesus Christ through whom we have
  • 16:42 gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand and
  • 16:46 we boast in the hope of the glory of God."
  • 16:48 Caleb: That was the new Testament, Josh.
  • 16:50 In the Old Covenant, Genesis 15:6 says, "Abram believed the
  • 16:54 Lord, and He credited to him as righteousness."
  • 16:57 This was before a time of the law, and even the [inaudible]
  • 17:01 like Rahab the harlot, Ruth the Moabitus, they were all
  • 17:05 justified by faith, Josh, not by the blood of bulls and goats.
  • 17:08 Joshua: Hebrews 10:3-4 says, "But in those sacrifices there
  • 17:11 is a reminder of sins every year.
  • 17:14 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls or goats could
  • 17:16 take away sins."
  • 17:18 Why is this important?
  • 17:19 Caleb: We're all born with the sin nature, Josh.
  • 17:21 Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and fallen short of the
  • 17:24 glory of God."
  • 17:26 Joshua: And the only way to salvation, to get into heaven,
  • 17:29 as you know, is through Yeshua.
  • 17:31 Acts 4:12 says, "Nor is there salvation in any other, for
  • 17:36 there is no name under heaven given among men by which we must
  • 17:41 be saved."
  • 17:42 Caleb: That's correct, so in previous episode about the rich
  • 17:45 man and Lazarus, we explained the concept of Abraham's bosom,
  • 17:49 a place of paradise.
  • 17:51 Now, there is no purgatory.
  • 17:53 There was a place of paradise for saints to go who have not
  • 17:56 yet received that indwelling of the Holy Spirit, that safety
  • 18:01 through Yeshua.
  • 18:02 Now, Yeshua went to Abraham's bosom.
  • 18:04 He emptied out the saints there after he preached that he was
  • 18:06 a Messiah.
  • 18:08 They all believed and he ushered them into heaven.
  • 18:10 So, the question is, can some kind of dispensation like that
  • 18:13 exist for children, you know, unborn, aborted babies who died?
  • 18:19 Is there a place, a way for them to receive Messiah and go
  • 18:22 to heaven?
  • 18:24 Joshua: Is that another one of those words you make up?
  • 18:25 Caleb: Dispensation, dispensation, different times
  • 18:29 of history.
  • 18:30 God had different order, systems of order and events in which you
  • 18:33 could receive justification.
  • 18:35 Like the time when John the Baptist was on the earth and
  • 18:38 your sins could be forgiven through water baptism.
  • 18:42 Like the time of Job, you know, he understood sacrifice, but the
  • 18:45 law hadn't been given yet like we explained before.
  • 18:47 Joshua: Those are dispensations.
  • 18:50 Hey, just in case you didn't know, now we know it's a
  • 18:52 good word.
  • 18:53 Caleb: In revelation, we know during the time of the
  • 18:56 tribulation, Josh, that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit
  • 18:59 cannot happen, you can't ask Jesus into your heart, but the
  • 19:01 saints who are beheaded for the name of Yeshua, they go directly
  • 19:05 to the throne of God and are given a white robe of
  • 19:07 righteousness, having their sins forgiven and are given a time
  • 19:11 of rest.
  • 19:12 Joshua: Think about this for a second.
  • 19:14 Just a public service announcement.
  • 19:15 It may be a tad easier to get into heaven if you just
  • 19:18 believe now.
  • 19:19 If you do feel yourself on the fence and you may wanna wait
  • 19:23 a little bit, beheading at some point is the next
  • 19:26 entrance ticket.
  • 19:28 Caleb: So, we know in Matthew 25:41, Josh, that hell was made
  • 19:32 for the devil and his angels.
  • 19:34 It's made for those who reject the Messiah, who reject
  • 19:37 his father.
  • 19:39 And those who go to hell now is because they reject the truth
  • 19:42 of Messiah.
  • 19:44 So, you may ask, well, what about those who didn't have
  • 19:45 a chance to reject or accept Messiah?
  • 19:47 Joshua: Yeah, like all of the little pygmies on the island
  • 19:50 over here, maybe, you know, somebody born in a tribe
  • 19:52 somewhere who's never heard English or got a Gideon Bible in
  • 19:55 their hotel when they stayed there.
  • 19:56 Caleb: Well, we have to believe and trust that God makes a way
  • 19:59 for everyone to at least one chance in their life hear the
  • 20:02 truth and to accept or reject it.
  • 20:04 We've heard stories from missionaries in those islands
  • 20:06 who said that Yeshua himself appeared to these tribal natives
  • 20:12 and proclaimed himself as the Messiah, or we've heard about
  • 20:16 Muslims in Iran that Yeshua appeared directly to them and
  • 20:20 preached that he was the Messiah.
  • 20:21 The Lord will make a way for everyone.
  • 20:23 Everyone has to have that choice, Josh, or God is not just
  • 20:26 and he cannot send them to hell or they cannot be received
  • 20:29 in heaven.
  • 20:31 They have to make that choice.
  • 20:32 Matthew 24:14, we've said before, the gospel of the
  • 20:35 kingdom has to be preached to all the world as a witness to
  • 20:38 all nations and then the end will come.
  • 20:40 The Father will not send his Son back to earth until everyone has
  • 20:45 heard the truth.
  • 20:46 Joshua: What about mentally handicapped children or children
  • 20:49 that were aborted or miscarried, little babies that never even
  • 20:52 made it?
  • 20:53 Caleb: Ok, let's say for example, story in the Bible of
  • 20:55 King David in 2 Samuel 12:23.
  • 20:59 David's son died, he petitioned God to spare his child, but he
  • 21:02 sinned against God, his son died, and a very
  • 21:05 telling scripture.
  • 21:07 David says, "Can I bring him back again?"
  • 21:08 Can I bring my son back to life?
  • 21:09 He says, "I shall go to him one day, but he shall not return
  • 21:12 to me."
  • 21:14 He understood that his child was gonna meet the Father and that
  • 21:16 he was gonna go to meet his child one day also.
  • 21:20 There is that understanding of that knowledge, so people coined
  • 21:23 the term the age of accountability.
  • 21:24 Joshua: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, so, like, you get a driver's
  • 21:26 license at 16 and you can vote at 18 and 25 I can rent a car.
  • 21:31 Accountability is when?
  • 21:34 Caleb: According to Jewish tradition, the age of
  • 21:36 accountability at the age of 12 or 13.
  • 21:38 You have your bar mitzvah, your bat mitzvah, you become a man or
  • 21:41 a woman, and you are now obligated.
  • 21:44 You are now in charge of your own spiritual welfare.
  • 21:47 You have that knowledge of good and evil and it's up to you to
  • 21:49 then to accept, receive Yeshua as your Savior and to do what
  • 21:53 is right.
  • 21:54 And so, that age can be different for different people.
  • 21:56 We see scripturally King Josiah, he became a man at the age of
  • 22:01 13, he married and had children, but he wasn't allowed to rule
  • 22:04 until the age of 20 because the age of 20 was the military
  • 22:07 fighting age in Israel.
  • 22:09 We look when the children of Israel were wondering in the
  • 22:11 wilderness, those 20 and under were allowed to enter the
  • 22:15 Promise Land even though they sinned, but only their parents
  • 22:17 had to die in the wilderness.
  • 22:19 So, we look at that age of accountability.
  • 22:20 You asked about the mentally handicapped.
  • 22:22 When do they ever have that age of understanding?
  • 22:25 Do they ever have?
  • 22:26 We have to believe that God makes a special way for the
  • 22:30 aborted babies, for the miscarried, for those that when
  • 22:34 they leave this earth, they will have that decision to
  • 22:37 receive Messiah.
  • 22:38 Joshua: This is like anything in scripture when you don't find
  • 22:40 a resolute, verbatim scripture.
  • 22:42 You have to look at the heart of God and you have to look at the
  • 22:44 history of God and what he says on other topics or in other
  • 22:48 situations about these groups, and we know here in Mark 9:42
  • 22:52 that he says, "But whoever causes one of these little ones
  • 22:55 who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a
  • 22:58 millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into
  • 23:01 the sea."
  • 23:02 See, this is the thing, God loves kiddos.
  • 23:05 He loves them.
  • 23:07 He says it all throughout the Bible.
  • 23:08 Caleb: And Matthew 19:14, "But Yeshua said, 'Let the little
  • 23:11 children come to Me and do not forbid them, for such is the
  • 23:13 kingdom of heaven."
  • 23:15 So, this is the stickler, guys, childlike faith is how you enter
  • 23:17 the kingdom of God.
  • 23:19 These children have innocent faith, trusting that God
  • 23:21 protects them.
  • 23:22 That is what justifies them.
  • 23:24 They're gonna make it.
  • 23:25 Joshua: I just got another question here.
  • 23:28 It's so weird, popped up, it says, asking for a friend, will
  • 23:33 my cat, Biscuits, and his pal, Milo, make it into heaven?
  • 23:39 Caleb: Your friend, Josh.
  • 23:41 Joshua: Thank you, your friend.
  • 23:42 Caleb: Maybe we'll talk about that next time.
  • 23:44 Thank you for joining us, guys.
  • 23:48 Josh has a cat named Biscuits.
  • 23:50 Joshua: I love biscuits.
  • 23:54 Joshua: These are topics that I don't always wanna touch with a
  • 23:56 ten-foot pole, animals being one of them, because people
  • 23:59 love their dogs.
  • 24:00 I mean, Lassie saved little Timmy in a well, is he gonna go
  • 24:02 to heaven?
  • 24:04 Everybody's got this question.
  • 24:05 Kirsten: We had hamsters and gerbils for the kids or hamsters
  • 24:07 when they were little and we didn't know we had a man and a
  • 24:10 woman hamster.
  • 24:11 We had, like, 15 babies, I don't want all these 15 babies in our
  • 24:14 mansion in heaven.
  • 24:16 The animal thing is very interesting.
  • 24:17 Joshua: Here's what we know.
  • 24:18 We know that the Bible says there are gonna be animals
  • 24:20 in heaven, but we also know that God cares so much more about us
  • 24:23 than a little sparrow, right?
  • 24:24 So, our focus is the people, God wants people there, right?
  • 24:29 So they asked the question again, well, what if somebody is
  • 24:31 mentally handicapped and they don't understand the gospel?
  • 24:33 Do they have to go to hell or does a good God allow them in?
  • 24:36 What exactly is the process beyond just believing in Yeshua,
  • 24:40 his blood, and we get to justification by faith.
  • 24:43 Caleb: And that's an interesting concept, because it stands the
  • 24:46 test of time.
  • 24:47 Old Testament and New Testament, it's always been about faith.
  • 24:50 Abraham believed God, it was credited to him
  • 24:52 as righteousness.
  • 24:53 Rahab believed. It was just an act of faith.
  • 24:56 I'm gonna save you guys and I believe your God is real.
  • 24:57 She didn't offer sacrifices, cleansing for her sins, that act
  • 24:59 of faith cleansed her, it justified her.
  • 25:01 They all went to Abraham's bosom, not to heaven, and then
  • 25:05 after they're already dead, Yeshua comes to them in
  • 25:08 Abraham's bosom and says I'm the Messiah.
  • 25:09 They believe on him there after they're already dead, and he
  • 25:12 says, alright, that's enough, you can come with me to heaven.
  • 25:14 We can't possibly comprehend and fathom how God does this, but
  • 25:19 the Son is the righteous judge, so if he says you are just,
  • 25:22 you're in right standing with me.
  • 25:23 The Father says, oh, he vouched for you, that's good, come on
  • 25:26 in, it's interesting.
  • 25:27 It is, and on social media, now is that a hot topic of
  • 25:33 justification by faith?
  • 25:34 I mean, what are you hearing from people?
  • 25:37 People saying that's not a good thing or they don't believe it?
  • 25:40 Joshua: We hear a lot of legalism, unfortunately, and we
  • 25:43 have people who all of a sudden become, again, judge, jury, and
  • 25:47 they come in there and they say this is the only way, this is
  • 25:49 that, and at the end of the day, again, if I love a God who loves
  • 25:54 me and who sacrificed, despite all the things I did, wouldn't I
  • 25:59 want that for everybody else, too?
  • 26:01 We get so quick to judge if it's not this way because I read it
  • 26:05 in the book, I'm like, well, you know what?
  • 26:06 I'm glad Jesus is choosing who's gonna go and not you, sir.
  • 26:09 Love you, but I don't want you choosing my eternal faith.
  • 26:12 Caleb: And the opposite end of the spectrum is this revival
  • 26:14 of Calvinism.
  • 26:16 It's real and alive today in the church.
  • 26:18 It's under a different name and these people believe, well, I
  • 26:21 don't even have to ask Yeshua in my heart, I don't have to.
  • 26:23 I'm predestined and that's it.
  • 26:25 And so, there's a lot of false teaching going on, but we'll
  • 26:29 take it all on, it's okay.
  • 26:31 Kirsten: And you do, and we call it hot topics but we're
  • 26:35 appreciative for that and we have so many more to come.
